Mleiha – The fourth edition of the Mleiha Ramadan Football Tournament for institutions in the Central Region will kick off on Friday evening, February 20, 2026. The tournament is organized by the Mleiha Cultural and Sports Club as part of the Mleiha Ramadan Forum activities, with the participation of 8 teams representing different institutions and entities in the region.
The teams were divided into two groups; the first group (A) includes: Mleiha Municipality, Alwan Foundation, Mleiha Club, and Mleiha Youth, while the second group (B) includes: Al Bataeh Municipality, LMBC Foundation, Civil Defense, and Al Madam Municipality.
The opening match on Friday will feature two games, with the Municipality of Mleiha team meeting the Alwan Foundation team, while the second match will bring together the Municipality of Al-Bataeh team and the LMBC Foundation team, in two anticipated encounters that reflect the strength of the competition from the first round.
The tournament is held in a full league system in the group stage, where each team plays three matches. The first and second teams of each group qualify for the semi-finals in a crossover system, with the third-place match being held before the final, and then the tournament concludes with the final match to crown the champion of the fourth edition.
The matches are played in a seven-a-side football format (6 players + goalkeeper), with two 20-minute halves, and penalty kicks are used directly in case of a tie during the knockout rounds. The tournament consists of a total of 13 matches spread over three weeks.
For his part, Salem Khalfan bin Jarash, Chairman of the Organizing Committee, affirmed that the tournament represents a prominent community sports event during the holy month of Ramadan, and contributes to strengthening the spirit of cooperation and positive competition among institutions, noting the Organizing Committee’s keenness to produce the tournament in a distinguished organizational manner befitting the status of the Mleiha Club and the aspirations of the sports community in the Central Region.
