Mohammed Sultan Khasouni Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Mleiha Club, expressed his gratitude and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, for his unlimited support of Mleiha Club and sports in general. He also thanked His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, for renewing confidence in the Mleiha Club's Board of Directors, and the Sharjah Sports Council, headed by Issa Hilal Al Hazami, for their follow-up. In an exclusive interview with Al Khaleej Al Riyadi, regarding Mleiha Club's season across its various sports, Mohammed Sultan Khasouni said: "We are delighted with the club's achievements in both individual and team sports during the 2022-2023 season." He added: "We aspire to even greater success, and our happiness is twofold because the club's teams are progressing steadily, with results improving season after season. This clearly indicates that the club's teams are on the right track." At the same time, we want to clarify to the public and the sports community that the club has been very successful in attracting local talent. We have 16 administrators for the various teams, all of whom are from the area, and the percentage of Emirati players across all sports is 90%. We consider this high percentage to be one of the club's positive steps, motivating us to exert maximum effort to raise the level of performance and maintain all our achievements by improving the results of all teams and working on developing the players' abilities. We also want the club to be the preferred and attractive place for the people of the area, and this is the goal for which clubs were established.” He continued, “We must also work on encouraging players to exert their utmost effort in fair competition to contribute to advancing sports in the country. We always aspire to see and witness players from the Mleiha Club representing the Emirate of Sharjah and the country in international events, whether at the national team level or in the club's expected participation in international tournaments for both team and individual sports, the latter of which we place great importance on.” Mohammed Khasouni said, “The Mleiha Club roster includes 444 players, 230 of whom are participating in various sports.” Team sports: 70 in football, 67 in handball, 56 in volleyball, 107 in basketball, and 214 in individual sports such as swimming, cycling, chess, archery, taekwondo, and athletics. We must clarify these figures and percentages by reviewing the club's results in the 2021-2022 season. In individual sports, we achieved 78 medals: 10 gold, 23 silver, and 45 bronze. In the current 2022-2023 season, individual sports have achieved 157 medals: 56 gold, 56 silver, and 45 bronze. As you can see, the improvement is evident in the increased medal count. This excellence motivates us to strive for even greater achievements in the new season. We hope it will be a golden season for the Mleiha Club, as we are preparing to introduce an under-19 football team. We will work to ensure our team is at least respectable, not necessarily competitive, but we will endeavor to provide the necessary elements for success. He added: "The age-group teams in team sports The club's roster is almost entirely composed of local players, with 90% being local residents. The club is open to all local youth. As for the futsal team, it performed well and competed in all tournaments, achieving third place in the league standings. We opted to maintain the team's technical stability by renewing the coach's contract for another season. He continued, "The Mleiha Club also excels in cultural and community work. Our cultural and community events consistently attract interested men and women. We are working to establish age-group teams for female volleyball and taekwondo
