The fourth edition of the Mleiha Ramadan Club Championship for Central Region Institutions was inaugurated this Friday evening, as part of the Mleiha Ramadan Forum activities, amidst a distinguished official and community presence that reflected the importance of the event and its role in strengthening cohesion between institutions and residents of the Central Region during the holy month.
The opening ceremony was attended by His Excellency Musbeh Saif Awad Al Ketbi, Director of Mleiha Municipality, His Excellency Ahmed Salem Humaidi Al Ketbi, Member of the Consultative Council, His Excellency Mohammed Sultan Khusouni Al Ketbi, along with Awad Saeed Hareb, Director of the Support Services Department at Mleiha Municipality, Salem Khalfan Bin Jarash, Member of the Board of Directors of Mleiha Club and Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Mleiha Ramadan Forum, and a number of representatives of participating institutions and an audience of the people of the region.
In a statement on this occasion, His Excellency Musbeh Saif Awad Al Ketbi, Director of Mleiha Municipality, affirmed that the tournament represents one of the leading community initiatives that strengthen ties between institutions and provide a space for meeting in a sporting atmosphere characterized by a positive spirit and fair competition, noting Mleiha Municipality’s keenness to support such events that serve the local community.
His Excellency Ahmed Salem Humaidi Al Ketbi, a member of the Advisory Council, also praised the organizational level of the tournament, appreciating the efforts of the Mleiha Club and the organizing committee in producing the event in a distinguished manner, and stressing that the tournament contributes to consolidating sports and social values ​​during the holy month.
The tournament got off to a strong start, with the results of Friday’s matches (20/02/2026) showing Mleiha Municipality winning against Alwan Foundation with a score of 9 goals to 1, in a match that witnessed a clear superiority, while Al Bataeh Municipality achieved an exciting victory over LMBC with a score of 3 goals to 2 in a match that was exciting and competitive until the last moments.
The tournament competitions will continue in the coming days according to the approved match schedule, amidst a Ramadan atmosphere full of enthusiasm and encouragement, confirming the social and sporting role that the Mleiha Club plays in serving the central region.
