The Sustainability Ambassadors at Mleiha Cultural and Sports Club continue their pioneering efforts in supporting environmental and agricultural initiatives. Recently, they distributed seedlings to clubs in the Central Region of the Emirate of Sharjah. This initiative is part of the Sustainability Ambassadors' commitment—a volunteer group comprised of players and athletes from the Mleiha Club family—to contributing to environmental conservation and raising awareness about the importance of environmental sustainability. The "Sustainability Ambassadors" program, one of the club's key initiatives during the Year of Sustainability, aims to educate the community through visits about the importance of environmental preservation and to focus on sustainable practices in all areas, including sustainable and local agriculture. This program promotes sustainability values and provides guidance and knowledge in this field. Recently, the Sustainability Ambassadors at Mleiha Club distributed hundreds of seedlings, providing a diverse selection of native plants suitable for the UAE climate. This contributes to enhancing biodiversity and preserving the region's agricultural heritage. The seedlings, which included fruit trees and native desert plants, were distributed to clubs in the Central Region of the Emirate of Sharjah, including Sharjah Falconers Club, Al Madam Cultural and Sports Club, and Al Dhaid Cultural and Sports Club. The Al Bataeh Cultural and Sports Club, under the umbrella of the Sharjah Sports Council, participated in this initiative. This reflects the commitment of the Mleiha Club and its Sustainability Ambassadors to raising awareness about the importance of preserving biodiversity and sustainable agriculture, and to encouraging the local community to actively participate in these efforts. This initiative is a positive step towards building a more sustainable and environmentally conscious society, and contributes to spreading awareness about the importance of agriculture and the environment among members of sports clubs and residents of the area. In this context, the Mleiha Club management expressed its gratitude for the clubs' cooperation and their welcoming of the Sustainability Ambassadors, and for strengthening cooperation between the club, government entities, and the local community to achieve sustainability and environmental goals in the Emirate of Sharjah. Mansour Rashid Balajid Al Ketbi, Head of Sustainability Ambassadors at the Mleiha Club, expressed his pleasure at contributing to this important environmental initiative, noting the importance of everyone's cooperation to preserve the environment and improve the quality of life in the region. He emphasized that these visits were an important step and part of a series of environmental initiatives undertaken by the Sustainability Ambassadors at the Mleiha Club, who are working on projects that promote environmental sustainability and raise community awareness about the importance of protecting the environment and preserving natural resources. Al Ketbi added, "We hope that these efforts will inspire more projects."
