The Mleiha Cultural and Sports Club concluded, as part of its Ramadan activities agenda, the Mleiha District Popular League, which it organized for the first time at its headquarters, by inviting the youth of the popular areas to participate in the cultural and sports competitions that it implemented during its sports nights.
The idea of the Popular League of the Mleiha region came about with the aim of inviting the youth of the popular leagues to participate in a cultural league and a sports league to revitalize their knowledge and physical fitness in a number of events that were in line with the club’s vision of inviting the people of the region to frequent the club based on the aspirations of the Sharjah Sports Council to pay attention to cultural and sports aspects and to contribute to creating a well-read and informed sports generation through the Popular League.
The league was distinguished by the presence of a number of popular teams to represent their regions by forming a three-team team bearing the name of the popular region, and they competed in a number of cultural questions about the Mleiha region, in addition to displaying different sports skills.
Fifteen diverse questions were presented, covering Emirati national, cultural, geographical, and artistic information about the Mleiha region, along with various questions about tolerance and the achievements of the founder of the state, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul, with the organization of sports competitions in football, basketball, and archery among the participating communities.
The participation between the popular groups highlighted the achievement of the league’s vision of bringing together the people of the popular groups in the Mleiha Club and providing an opportunity for them to get to know each other and activate their physical strength in various sports competitions, in addition to competitions that provide knowledge about the region.
At the end of the league, Abdullah Salem Al-Khasouni Al-Ketbi, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Mleiha Cultural and Sports Club, honored the winning popular teams, with Hamda Popular Team coming in first place, Al-Khatm Popular Team in second place, and Ruwaida Popular Team in third place.

He pointed out that the role of the popular groups in the Mleiha region has achieved great success through participation and interaction, and has achieved many of the goals that the club has focused on within the framework of the higher goals of community communication, as the club is a community club.
