The Sports Sustainability Document, launched by the Mleiha Club yesterday evening at its headquarters, stems from its duty as a sports club and in fulfillment of the Sharjah Sports Council's objectives to encourage the community in general and athletes in particular to respond to the requirements of sustainability in all its aspects. The document states: (In commitment to achieving the requirements of sustainability in all its aspects and its impact on the quality of life of the community, and its connection to responsibility and making it a way of life, we sign this document, believing in the importance of sports sustainability to support the goals of sustainable development within the state's directions, and we acknowledge this....) Accordingly, His Excellency Musbeh Saif Awad Al Ketbi, Director of the Mleiha Municipality, signed the document, signaling its launch and inaugurating its circulation within the community among institutions and stakeholders, targeting a large segment of the country's dignitaries and athletes, to become part of this general national direction, and a priority among the sports sectors. The Sports Sustainability Document was also signed by His Excellency Mohammed Sultan Al Khasouni, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Mleiha Club. He affirmed that this document, which contains important contents summarizing the club's commitment to supporting the sustainability initiative launched by the Sharjah Sports Council in line with the UAE's Year of Sustainability 2023 and fulfilling the requirements of the Sharjah Sports Council Sustainability Award, will be circulated among numerous entities and institutions, receiving signatures as an acknowledgment of its importance and a commitment to its provisions. This document follows the launch two days prior by the club of an initiative within the same vision, entitled "Ambassadors of Sustainability," which aligns with the club's broader goal of disseminating a culture of sustainability throughout the club and its commitment to expanding its reach to the wider community, enhancing their understanding of how to contribute positively to a better life and make sports a way of life.
