The Mleiha Cultural and Sports Club was awarded first place in the Sharjah Sports Sustainability Award at a ceremony held at the Sharjah Institute for Heritage. The event was attended by a number of sports leaders and prominent figures in the Emirate of Sharjah. Also present were His Excellency Issa Hilal Al Hazami, Chairman of the Sharjah Sports Council, and His Excellency Mohammed Sultan Al Khasouni, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Mleiha Club, along with members of the board and the club's staff. The ceremony also included honoring the heads and members of the boards of specialized and sports clubs in the Emirate of Sharjah. Mohammed Sultan Al-Khasouni received the first-place shield for the efforts of the Mleiha Club in organizing more than 149 different events during the award period, which contributed significantly to achieving and disseminating sustainability goals in the community in general and in the Mleiha region in particular. Al-Khasouni expressed his happiness and pride in this achievement, pointing to the club's role in promoting and spreading the values of sustainability among members of the community. He emphasized that the Sharjah Sports Sustainability Council Award is one of the important awards that encourages sports clubs to adopt the principles and concepts of sustainability in their activities and community events. For his part, Al-Khasouni thanked the Sharjah Sports Council for this award, stressing the Mleiha Club's commitment to promoting sustainability concepts and contributing effectively to building a healthy and balanced society. He also expressed his appreciation for the efforts of all government institutions in the Mleiha region in supporting the club's sustainability initiatives, in addition to the community role played by several individuals in the Mleiha region and the club's achievements in the field of sustainability in consolidating the desired national roles.
