Participants in the summer activity of the Mleiha Cultural and Sports Club were trained in a workshop organized as part of the current activities on the skill of public speaking, communication and facing the public, which is one of the important courses in qualifying participants and enhancing their self-confidence.
During the workshop, which was included in the club’s activities and held under the umbrella of the Sharjah Sports Council, and presented by Dr. Saeed Balith Al Tunaiji, the well-known Emirati lecturer and specialist in the fields of human development, the participants learned about the concept of public speaking, the art of public speaking, and the mechanisms for preparing to speak and preparing in advance to address the public in a manner that is compatible with the abilities of the young participants and children.
During the workshop, Al-Tunaiji discussed several forms of the art of public speaking, in addition to overcoming difficulties, facing confusion, fear, and manifestations of fear, and ways to deal with them, which may affect the speaker before or during the speech, and the skill of overcoming this fear from the first moments.
To enable the workshop participants, Dr. Saeed Balith Al Tunaiji was keen to provide the participants with presentation skills through the numerous models he presented and delivered in his interesting style, as well as exchanging conversation with the participants about methods of presentation, listening to their skills and working to develop them.
He touched on the foundations that must be followed to enhance the art of public speaking skills in terms of good preparation, mastery of the subject, and overcoming stage fright, in addition to touching on skills for dealing with the audience and building a relationship with them during the presentation.
The workshop reviewed aspects of the art of public speaking, including expression through vocal coloring, the art of pauses, visual communication, and body language with speakers, in addition to reviewing an important aspect of post-public speaking skills.
Following the workshop, which saw remarkable interaction from the participants, His Excellency Mohammed Sultan Al-Khasouni, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Mleiha Cultural and Sports Club, honored the lecturer, Dr. Saeed Bal-Laith Al-Tunaiji, for his attendance and participation in presenting the workshop, which benefited the participants and provided them with new skills during their summer vacation.
