Mleiha Cultural and Sports Club achieved a remarkable sporting accomplishment by winning the first place cup for the under-15 category, and collecting 7 colored medals, including 4 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals, within the competitions of the UAE Open Championship for Obstacle Courses 2026, which was organized by the UAE Modern Pentathlon Federation at the obstacle course in Mleiha Club, with the participation of more than 60 male and female players from various clubs and sports institutions in the country.
The championship is the first obstacle course championship to be held at the obstacle course in the Mleiha Club, and it witnessed a strong competitive atmosphere and distinguished technical levels in the under-15 boys and general categories for men and women, amidst a prominent official and sports presence.
The players of the Mleiha Club were able to achieve remarkable results during the tournament, as the player Dhiab Omar Saeed Al-Ketbi succeeded in winning first place and the gold medal in the individual category, first place and the gold medal in the team category, in addition to third place and the bronze medal in the overall ranking.
Player Salem Musbah Tamim Al Ketbi also won first place and the gold medal in the team competitions, in addition to winning second place and the silver medal in the individual competitions.
Meanwhile, player Ahmed Mohamed Riad achieved first place and the gold medal in the team competitions, in addition to obtaining third place and the bronze medal in the individual competitions.
The championship was attended by Sheikh Suhail bin Butti Al Maktoum, Assistant Undersecretary for the Sports Development and Competitiveness Sector at the Ministry of Sports and Chairman of the UAE Committee for the Care of Sports Talents and Support of National Sports, and Dr. Huda Abdulrahman Al Matroushi, President of the UAE Modern Pentathlon Federation, along with a number of members of the Federation’s Board of Directors and sports officials.
Also present from the Mleiha Club were His Excellency Mohammed Sultan Khusouni Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Board, Abdul Rahman Muhair Al Ketbi, Board Member and Chairman of the Media and Corporate Communication Committee, and Mansour Rashid Al Ketbi, Executive Director of the Club.
His Excellency Mohammed Sultan Khusouni Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Mleiha Cultural and Sports Club, affirmed that the achievements made by the club’s players in the tournament reflect the spirit of commitment and ambition among the club’s members, noting that investing in age groups is one of the most important pillars that the club works on to build a strong and sustainable sports base.
His Excellency explained that the Mleiha Club is keen to provide integrated training programs for players, in addition to supporting their participation in various tournaments, which contributes to developing their technical levels and enhancing their readiness to compete, stressing that the honorable results achieved in the tournament represent an incentive to continue working and achieving more successes in the upcoming events.
His Excellency pointed out that organizing the championship on the obstacle course at the club reflects the great readiness of the sports infrastructure that the Mleiha Club possesses, and confirms the club’s keenness to support modern sports and provide advanced facilities that contribute to attracting and developing sports talents, in a way that serves the aspirations of the sports movement in the United Arab Emirates.
