Mleiha Cultural and Sports Club educates its administrative, technical, and sports staff on methods of rationalizing energy consumption.
In the presence of a large number of administrative, technical, and sports officials, the Mleiha Cultural and Sports Club, in cooperation with the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA), organized a virtual lecture on best practices in energy conservation. The club's board of directors was keen to enhance the lecture's impact by encouraging attendance and inviting all sports teams to participate via Zoom. They benefited from the lecture presented by Saif Al Naqbi from SEWA, which covered several topics aimed at raising awareness among community members, especially athletes, about energy conservation and rationalization. Lecturer Saif Al Naqbi addressed various methods for conserving lighting, highlighting the most energy-intensive household appliances and how to avoid running them continuously to prevent excessive electricity consumption. He also provided detailed information on water and electricity conservation mechanisms and offered a range of essential tips and guidelines to help preserve natural resources and prevent waste. Al-Naqbi urged everyone to read the instructions on electrical appliances to ensure they are rated for consumption and to follow conservation guidelines. Abdullah Balajid Al-Ketbi, Head of the Cultural Committee at the Mleiha Club, explained that the lecture, held in cooperation with the Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority, emphasized that water and electricity are blessings bestowed upon us by God and are essential for life. He called on athletes and community members to be aware of the importance of conserving these resources by using energy-efficient devices such as eco-friendly appliances or water filters, which contribute to water conservation in homes. Al-Ketbi pointed out that preserving electricity and water is a national imperative, as they are a national resource for all generations and should be used only as needed.
