The Mleiha Cultural and Sports Club provided an awareness session for its players against various bullying phenomena, within the framework of converging goals to consolidate and promote correct behaviors and values.
This came in a lecture that was organized yesterday evening in cooperation with the Sharjah Police General Command, and the lecture was titled “Playgrounds Without Bullying”.
Fifty players, along with the training and administrative staff of the under-14 and under-16 football teams, attended the lecture, which was held in person at the club's headquarters, as part of the awareness lectures aimed at combating negative phenomena and harmful behaviors among children.
What distinguishes the lecture is that it was implemented within the framework of the objectives of the Cultural and Community Service Committee and the vision drawn up by the committee headed by Abdullah Balajid Al-Ketbi with the aim of achieving positive goals in the hearts of the players.
The lecture was presented by First Assistant Yasser Mohammed Alai from the Sharjah Police General Command. He focused on raising awareness among players about the concepts and dangers of bullying, especially within stadiums and sports halls. He provided them with awareness and guidance aimed at enhancing their understanding of the risks of this behavior and its negative impact on the player, then the individual, the family, and society, as well as the importance of following safe procedures in dealing with sportsmanship.
Alai addressed a number of elements of the lecture, including the definition of bullying, then moving on to the types of bullying, addressing bullying in stadiums, legislation, laws and etiquette that oppose bullying, and finally, at the end of the lecture, presenting an important topic entitled "Our Stadiums as We Want Them to Be."
