Last night, at its headquarters, the Mleiha Sports Club received a delegation from the Department of Sports Affairs and Development of the Sharjah Sports Council of the Sharjah Government and briefed them on all the preparations that are proceeding at full speed for the launch of the club’s teams during the 2020/2021 sports season and the intensive preparations to take all precautionary measures for the safety of the club’s players from the Coronavirus (COVID-19).
His Excellency Mohammed Sultan Al Khasouni, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Mleiha Club, welcomed the delegation from the Department of Sports Affairs and Development at the Sharjah Sports Council, conveying his greetings to the Chairman of the Sharjah Sports Council and its members and staff. He emphasized the club's keenness to enhance communication with all departments of the Council to ensure a proper start to the sports season at the club, in accordance with the necessary precautions and procedures for implementing all instructions and directives issued by the official authorities in the country.
On behalf of the Sharjah Sports Council, the following were present: His Excellency Nabil Mohammed Ashour, Director of Administration; His Excellency Mohammed Obaid Al Hosan, Head of the Team Games Department; Mohammed Al Naqbi, Coordinator of the Professionalism Department; and Jassim Al Doukhi, Administrative Coordinator. The delegation was received by the club, in addition to the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Mleiha Club, His Excellency Hadi Mahir Saeed Khasouni Al Ketbi, Board Member and Head of the Team Games Committee at the club, and a number of Mleiha Club staff.
His Excellency Nabil Mohammed Ashour presented an overview of all the directions of the Sharjah Sports Council during the coming period and with the start of the sports season regarding the resumption of sports in the various clubs of the Emirate of Sharjah, including the Mleiha Club, for both men’s teams and age groups.
He pointed out that the Department of Sports Affairs and Development is keen to assess the readiness of the Mleiha Club and its preparedness for the return of sports activity, taking the various precautions and returning to local competitions.
During the meeting, all organizational matters were discussed for the gradual return of the club’s games, especially group games, and for receiving the players and starting training sessions according to a well-thought-out plan.
At the end of the meeting, His Excellency Hadi Mahir Saeed Khasouni Al Ketbi, Board Member and Chairman of the Club’s Team Games Committee, praised the efforts of the Sports Affairs and Development Department of the Sharjah Sports Council and its keenness to ensure that precautionary measures were applied in full during training sessions, which concluded without any injuries, and to resume participation and benefit from the department’s directives at the start of the new season and official matches in team games.
