The Mleiha Cultural and Sports Club has completed the implementation of its internal procedures at evacuation points and the application of emergency rules in accordance with the regulations in force in the country, in addition to activating prevention and safety systems in all its facilities.
Through the efforts of the club’s board of directors and the follow-up of its staff with the competent authorities, the club has intensified the priority of implementing all tasks and activities in a way that ensures the safety and health of all athletes, workers and practitioners of activities, in order to consolidate its strategic goals emanating from the Sharjah Sports Council in implementing various regulations.
The club implemented the requirements of the Sharjah Emirate's Public Health and Safety System in the evacuation and emergency system, identifying exits and other related legislative requirements, as well as working to continuously measure compliance with these laws and legislation and performing all activities and work in a safe and healthy manner.
Salem Rashid Al Ketbi, Secretary General of the Mleiha Club, affirmed that the club, in the course of its work to achieve quality requirements in all its work, aims to be an integrated sports environment that meets the best standards of occupational safety and health, and to take all necessary measures and precautions to prevent accidents and occupational diseases and to promote the well-being and health of athletes and employees.
Al-Katbi explained that the club has identified four evacuation and assembly points next to the emergency exits and installed directional signs in cooperation with the concerned parties, in order to maintain the sports halls and places for practicing sports and activities to be a safe, healthy and risk-free sports environment for all athletes who practice all forms and types of individual and group sports within the limits of the club’s responsibility, as well as anyone who may be affected by its activities.
Al-Katbi pointed out that the club, through the guidance of the Board of Directors, has sought throughout the past months to qualify the club’s buildings and halls to protect athletes and visitors, in order to reduce the chances of exposure to risks, provide care systems to follow general guidelines where necessary, enhance safe evacuation methods, and train all practitioners of sports and activities and employees in the club.
