Continuing to strengthen the handball team and enhance its presence in the 2020/2021 sports season, Mleiha Sports Club signed yesterday evening with player Mohamed Abdel Rahman, known as (Boudi), for one season as a resident player, and renewed the contract of its professional player Omar Gamal Hajjaj, both of whom are from the Egyptian national handball team.
Professional player Omar Hajjaj will wear the number 22 jersey as he continues his journey with the club. He previously played for the Egyptian Police Union Club, winning the Egyptian Premier League in 2007 and the Egypt Cup in 2007. He was a member of the Egyptian national youth and junior teams, winning two African championships with them. He also played for the Egyptian men's national team, winning the gold medal at the 2012 Mediterranean Games and the African Championship. He participated with the national team in several World Cup tournaments from 2011 to 2018. His last club was Al-Ahly Club in Egypt, where he participated in numerous local and international tournaments, including the 2014 FIFA Club World Cup in Qatar and the CAF Champions League.
Resident player Mohamed Abdelrahman, known as "Boudi," will wear the number 15 jersey. He joins the team and brings his experience from playing for Al-Jazira SC in Egypt from 2008 to 2012. He then moved to Al-Ahly SC, playing with them until 2016, winning the Egyptian Cup and the Egyptian Premier League title twice consecutively. He also played for the Egyptian national team, winning the Africa Cup of Nations in 2015 and 2017. He then moved to Zamalek SC, winning the Egyptian Premier League, the CAF Champions League, and the CAF Super Cup. Maliha FC successfully signed him for the 2020/2021 season.
With this signing, the team's readiness is complete, led by coach Walid Abdel Kafi and team manager Youssef Al Hammadi, and sponsored by Khansaheb.
His Excellency Mohammed Sultan Al-Khasouni, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Mleiha Club, signed the contracts of the Egyptian players and confirmed that Mleiha Club and its fans rely on the handball team to achieve honorable accomplishments in the name of the club, especially since the team possesses quality expertise through the technical and administrative staff under the management of coach Walid Abdel-Kafi and the quality addition of the players and the various players of the team.
Al-Khasouni pointed out that the men's handball team is ready to compete and achieve the club's ambitions in proving the club's position among the teams in the handball league.
