The players of the Mleiha Cultural and Sports Club achieved a remarkable accomplishment in the modern pentathlon championships (biathle, triathle, and laser run) held on Kalba Beach, after they won 11 cups and 62 colored medals, including 42 gold, 12 silver, and 8 bronze, in a new confirmation of the excellence of the club’s individual sports and its strong presence in various age groups.
The most notable results came in the Biathlon Championship, which witnessed a clear superiority of the sons of Mleiha, winning 5 cups and 28 medals (19 gold, 4 silver, 5 bronze), as the team won the first place cup in the stages under 9, 11, 13, 15, and 17 years, with achieving advanced individual positions that varied between gold, silver and bronze.
In the triathlon championship, the club’s players continued their brilliance by winning 3 cups and 16 medals (11 gold, 3 silver, 2 bronze), as the team won the first place cup in the under 11, 13, and 15 age groups, in addition to outstanding individual results that boosted the club’s tally in the championship.
The team also excelled in the Laser Run Championship, winning 3 cups and 18 medals (12 gold, 5 silver, 1 bronze), achieving first place in the under 9, 11, and 13 age groups, in addition to a runner-up position in the under 15 age group, reflecting the high readiness of the players and the diversity of their competitive abilities.
For his part, Hamad Tamim Al Ketbi, a member of the board of directors of Mleiha Club and head of the Individual Games Committee, praised this achievement, stressing that the results achieved reflect the great work done by the technical and administrative staff, and the outstanding commitment of the players in various age groups, noting that this excellence comes within the club’s strategy to develop individual games and create champions capable of competing strongly in various championships, and continuing to achieve accomplishments that raise the name of Mleiha Club in sports forums.
