The Mleiha Cultural and Sports Club discussed its various plans to further develop its operations and raise awareness among athletes about the aspects and importance of sports sustainability, which forms the basis for current and future development. This took place during a preparatory meeting held by the Mleiha Sports Sustainability Committee, chaired by Mr. Nasser Al Mahrazi, Board Member and Head of the Strategic Planning Committee, yesterday evening at the club's headquarters. The committee approved the formation of a special committee for the Sharjah Sports Council Sustainability Award. At the beginning of the meeting, Nasser Al Mahrazi emphasized the importance of continuing the club's progress in achieving excellence, having already met quality standards and demonstrated its commitment to sustainability. He explained that the committee's work focuses on highlighting the importance of conserving natural resources, adopting the principles of sustainable development, and proposing mechanisms for implementing these principles. This, in turn, promotes and raises awareness of the importance of sports sustainability, aligning with the club's objectives. During the meeting, roles were distributed among the committee members, and a roadmap for the committee's work was agreed upon. This roadmap aligns with the goals of the Mleiha Club's board of directors and its strategic plans and objectives, while also adhering to the Sharjah government's vision for achieving sustainable development. The meeting addressed the preservation of the club's natural resources for the players, both now and in the future. Emphasis was placed on the importance of raising awareness about sustainability and encouraging innovation and creative thinking in this area. The committee called upon all club committees, players, administrators, coaches, and staff to collaborate in developing opportunities for joint action to meet the requirements of sports sustainability. This includes developing various projects, particularly those that align with the quality standards upon which the club is founded, as evidenced by its numerous ISO certifications, which strongly support this approach. The committee also affirmed its commitment to fulfilling its role within the framework of the Sharjah Sports Sustainability Award's objectives and the Sharjah Sports Council's plans.
