The Mleiha Ramadan Championship for Central Region Institutions 2026, organized by the Mleiha Cultural and Sports Club as part of the Mleiha Ramadan Forum activities, concluded yesterday evening amidst an enthusiastic sporting atmosphere and a distinguished official and community presence, reflecting the status that the championship has gained as one of the most prominent community sporting events in the Central Region during the holy month of Ramadan.
The final match was attended by His Excellency Musbeh Saif Awad Al Ketbi, Director of Mleiha Municipality, who crowned the winning teams, along with His Excellency Ahmed Salem Awad Al Ketbi, Member of the Sharjah Consultative Council, Dr. Abdul Rahman Darwish, Director of Mleiha Youth Center, and Mr. Awad Saeed Hareb, Director of the Support Services Department at Mleiha Municipality, in the presence of a number of officials and representatives of participating institutions and a large audience of residents of the Central Region who were keen to follow the final match in a distinctive Ramadan atmosphere.
The closing ceremony was also attended by representatives of the Mleiha Cultural and Sports Club, led by Salem Khalfan bin Jarash, Board Member and Chairman of the Organizing Committee for the Championship, and Abdulrahman Muhair Al-Ketbi, Board Member and Chairman of the Media and Corporate Communication Committee, along with Captain Bader Al-Dharouni, the Championship Director.
The final match was intense and full of excitement, as the Mleiha Youth Center team managed to secure the championship title after defeating the Mleiha Municipality team in a match characterized by competitiveness and rivalry, confirming the team's right to the title after a distinguished journey during which it presented remarkable technical levels throughout the championship competitions.
In the third-place match, the Civil Defense team succeeded in securing third place after defeating the Al Madam Municipality team in a match characterized by strong competition between the two teams.
The tournament witnessed the emergence of a number of players who presented outstanding levels during the matches. Marwan from the Mleiha Youth Center won the award for best player in the tournament after the remarkable performance he presented and through which he contributed to leading his team towards winning the title. Saeed Abu Al-Khair from the Mleiha Municipality team won the title of top scorer of the tournament after scoring a number of influential goals during the tournament competitions. Ahmed Al-Desouki from the Mleiha Youth Center also received the award for best goalkeeper after the outstanding performance he presented throughout the tournament.
At the conclusion of the tournament, His Excellency Musbeh Saif Awad Al Ketbi, Director of Mleiha Municipality, crowned the winning teams and handed over the tournament cup and gold medals to the Mleiha Youth Center team, while the Mleiha Municipality team received the silver medals, and the Civil Defense team received the bronze medals, amidst a festive atmosphere that reflected the organizational success achieved by the tournament.
His Excellency Musabbeh Saif Awad Al Ketbi praised the technical and organizational level of the tournament, stressing that such Ramadan tournaments contribute to strengthening community ties between institutions in the Central Region, and provide a positive sporting environment that promotes the spirit of cooperation and communication between different parties.
